February Meeting

In attendance were Daveita, Betty, Shannon, Gin, Dori

Daveita announced the March 1st opening of her new shop, "Sticks 'N Stones" and invited everyone to her grand opening celebration beginning 9 am at 1756 W Cherry Lane in Meridian (371-8408). (Located in the strip mall behind the Pizza Hut) Unique vinyl and home decor. Come see what can be done with vinyl!

Daveita announced the collaboration of the Idaho Gems and Ladies of Harley(?) with High Desert Harley-Davidson in Race for the Cure, a breast cancer fundraiser benefitting the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation scheduled for April 19th. The activities will include a poker run, raffle tickets, 50/50, and auction. Both Daveita and Betty will speak at the event which coincides with the riding season kick-off at H-D and includes a band and discounted food. Among the items to be auctioned is a gorgeous pink ribbon themed quilt made by Daveita's mother.

The riding season has been set and moved to the calendar. We have several overnighters planned, as well as a Mother's Day luncheon ride to the Sand Bar Restaurant in Marsing. Look at the scheduled rides and mark your calendars!

January Meeting

Our meeting was a good one! Attendance was Daveita, Betty, Shannon, Kristie, and Julie Hunt.

We had a guest speaker ( Tim Haney-- Sawtooth Motorcycle tours). Tim is starting a business taking people on 3 to 10 day trips on your bike, through Yellowstone, Montana and etc. He was looking for input from women about what we might like as activities with a tour, and grading roads.

We voted on a treasurer: Congratulations to Betty De Lapp. She will be in charge of our funds, keeping track of our credits and debits with verification from someone each month.

Any one who needs or wants an Idaho Gems business card please let me know!

We did not have time to do the riding schedule for the year, so it is imperative we get it done in February. Our meeting next month will be the 19th of Feb. at 6:30pm. (High Desert Harley Davidson Upstairs conference room.) We need a little more time to get this job done.

Then in March we are having a pot luck-- details later.

We did not hold an auction this month, attendance was down. Well that’s is for now looking forward to riding again!!
